We had a good turn out for the rally. I think at the last count 28 units and 26 and a half Reliants, the half being Sheila’s Wheels bed unit trailer. It was nice to find we had the field to ourselves this year. The Bubble Car Museum wasn’t open this year as it was having a major facelift and most of the cars had been moved out but it should be ready later in the year. The weather wasn’t too bad but for the wind billowing across the Lincolnshire plains. It was good to see the R3W guys and gals joining in the activities, after all they are all Reliant Owners Club members.
It would seem that the Saturday run out to Batemans Brewery was quite successful and everyone who went along found it OK and had a good day. Many thanks to Paula at the Bubble Car Museum for sorting the route out for us, also for arranging the Fish and Chip run on Friday evening.
We had a communal barbeque on Saturday evening which went down well as we seemed to have eaten everything. David Elliot and Pauline working very hard, cooking furiously under the gazebo whilst I did a quiz and bingo inside the marquee.
The usual activities went ahead on Sunday afternoon, the majority of the table top games were done in the
marquee because of the wind, as was
the prize giving later. Sunday evening, we did another quiz, and later had two large groups playing ‘Chase the Ace’, a card game which created a lot of laughter from all playing.
Monday moring, myself and Pauline treated ourselves to a cooked breakfast in the café at the front of the campsite, then we had to
start to pack away. We cleared everything from inside the tent and had the coffee morning under canvass, attended by quite a few. All too soon it was time to pack the tent away and wend our merry way home.
We really enjoy putting on the rally but we are always glad when it finishes and we can let out a large breath and can relax for a while again. No doubt we will see mostly everyone somewhere along the way at other rallies, so cheerio and we’ll see you again soon .
